The conference aims to bring together a variety of voices: government, civil society, business/private sector and Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to ensure joined-up discussion looking both at human and sustainable development.

The conference objectives are to: 

  • provide an update on the Open Working Group (OWG) and the Post-2015 processes and opportunities for engagement and influence
  • explore how we can facilitate the promotion of southern partners’ voices and look at opportunities for collaboration with them
  • discuss Scotland's role in the Post-2015 process
  • consider the implications for Scotland of being responsible for implementing the new framework in 2015 and beyond
