'Translating the Saga of the Earls of Orkney'

Join the Centre for Scandinavian Studies research seminar for the presentation 'Deep Dives into Orkneyinga saga: Notes from the Translators' Workshop' by Prof. Judith Jesch. All welcome - open to the public.

Professor Judith Jesch, FBA, FRHistS, FSA(Scot) is Emeritus Professor of Viking Studies at the University of Nottingham and a Fellow of the British Academy. She is an expert on, among other things, Norse Scotland and its literature, women in the Viking Age, and runology. 

Her new translation of The Saga of the Earls of Orkney (Orkneyinga saga) was published by Birlinn in 2025.
