As recipients of funding from Cancer Research UK, researchers from the University of Aberdeen were invited to Cancer Research UK's Annual Scottish Parliamentary Reception held on the 7th of February 2024 at the Scottish Parliament.

Student awarded best oral presentation at a national conference
Max McAllan (BDS3) attended the INSPIRE Conference 2024. At the conference, he presented his summer scholarship research and received the prize for the best oral presentation.

Sara Sharaf received funding from the BSP Research Grant. Sara is a second year PhD student.

The Dental Technology Programme hosted an Open Day at the Institute of Dentistry on Friday 15th March 2024. This was the first open day hosted by the programme.

Aberdeen rises to 37th globally in sustainability ranking
The University of Aberdeen has continued to build on its strong performance in the QS World University Sustainability rankings, rising 27 places in the 2024 league table to an overall position of joint 37th in the world, and two places to 15th in the UK.

Professor Jaya Jayasinghe was awarded the 2023 Excellence in Dental Education - Mature Career Educator award by the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE).

Dr Lois Gall achieved an MSc in Clinical Education
We would like to congratulate Dr Lois Gall on her achievement of completing an MSc in Clinical Education from the University of Aberdeen. Her project was titled "An Evaluation of the Use and Application of LiftUpp at One Dental School in Scotland". The project was supervised by Dr Lorraine Hawick.

Dental Technology programme graduate elected as DTA council member
Jade Ritch, a graduate of the Dental Technology programme at the University of Aberdeen, was elected as Dental Technologists Association's (DTA) council member in May 2023.
