The Chaplaincy welcomes students of all beliefs, race and circumstance and we want students to know that their culture, background and beliefs (or non-belief) are welcomed. A Multi-faith Chaplaincy can play a vital role in helping students connect the academic, social and spiritual aspects of education. We endeavour to arrange activities in which students can develop inter-personal skills and leadership qualities while also growing in their cultural awareness of and concern for others. The Chaplaincy helps students to make these self-discoveries and to be open to the stories and lives of other people. These plans take many forms: liaison-building with local faith leaders, discussions, films, inter-faith services, dialogues, retreats, lunchtime activities and meals together.
Can you help us?
Our current Chaplaincy Centre welcomes many students and student groups each week. However the facility is showing its age. It looks tired, inaccessible, poorly lit and has a run-down feel. We are aiming to revamp the present facilities with an open cafe area, an inclusive multi-faith space and a beautiful garden for contemplation and we are excited to share this vision with you. We would truly welcome any donation, large or small, to assist us with the ever-increasing demands of welcoming, caring and supporting an increasingly multi-faith and multi-cultural student population. The link below will display a form that can be used to make secure single or regular gifts to the Chaplaincy. To donate to the Chaplaincy at the box marked 'designation' choose 'other' from the drop down menu and then insert the word Chaplaincy.
Thank you in advance for supporting the Chaplaincy Centre.
From all the Chaplaincy Centre staff.
