Careers drop-in sessions

Not sure where to start or have a quick question about how to make applications, find work experience, graduate jobs and more? Our careers drop-in is a great way to start.

There's no need to book. Simply come along to the 2nd floor of the Students' Union Building and we will try to answer your question for you, or refer you to one of our appointments. Our drop-in usually runs from 11am to 3pm Monday to Friday with reduced times outwith term time.

We also run subject-specific drop-ins in some areas such as Law and Engineering at specific times of year. To find out more, see the available appointments and information from your School.

Ask a question (online)

Our "Ask a question" service allows you to submit your query to us through MyCareerHub - at any time convenient to you.

You can use this service for advice and information on:

  • career options and career planning
  • searching for vacancies
  • further study and funding
  • feedback on CVs, covering letters and LinkedIn profiles. (We recommend that you first submit your document/profile to CareerSet to receive instant personalised feedback from our enhanced AI-based online platform.)
  • feedback on application forms and personal statements.

We aim to answer queries by the next working day. Sometimes, we may refer you to a specific member of staff for specialist advice and guidance which means that it might take up to three working days for you to receive an answer, but we will let you know if this is the case.
