Aberdeen Centre for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Health (ACAMH)

The Aberdeen Centre for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Health seeks to understand mechanisms of disease onset and outcome in inflammatory arthritis, osteoarthritis and conditions with chronic pain as a key feature. We have specific skills in regenerative medicine; MRI technology; biomaterials and bone regeneration; and epidemiology.

Our mechanistic studies, epidemiological studies and “real world” evidence from disease registers informs randomised controlled trials of disease management, which in turn feeds into our work on designing, implementing and evaluating health services for patients with these conditions.
