Alternative Routes to Entry

As part of its commitment to Widening Access to Higher Education, the University of Aberdeen accepts a range of alternative routes of entry into our undergraduate degree programmes.

Access Programmes serve as a bridge to degree level study, offering a range of courses covering both Arts & Social Sciences and Science subjects, to allow students to meet the entry requirements to year 1 of our degree programmes. The University runs its own Summer School for Access Programme and Online Access Programme for entry to the Post Graduate Diploma in Education, more details of which can be found below. In addition we are happy to consider applications from Access programmes run by Further Education Colleges and have close links with North East Scotland College (NESCOL).

HNC and HND Programmes are run by Further Education Colleges. We are happy to accept applications from students who hold these qualifications and have a number of defined pathways with Colleges where our curriculums match closely. More details can be found below.
