International Undergraduate Scholarship

As part of our commitment to attracting the very best students to join our diverse international community, we are delighted to offer the University of Aberdeen International Undergraduate Scholarship. This scholarship is worth one year’s tuition fee and is open to all international undergraduate students studying for 4 years or more at the University of Aberdeen (excludes Medicine). 

What does this mean?

  • If you are an international student entering into an undergraduate degree programme of at least four years duration we will offer you a scholarship equivalent to the tuition fee for your fourth year (excludes medicine)

Each year, the University of Aberdeen enrols a number of international graduate students awarded a prestigious Chevening Scholarship. Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at UK universities.

Jim Duncan Scholarships

There are two Jim Duncan Scholarships available. They are open to applicants who have decided to go to the University of Aberdeen to undertake an undergraduate degree starting in September 2020 after having had a break in their education, or who are resuming their undergraduate studies at the University after an interruption, and require financial assistance.

Postgraduate Taught

Aberdeen Alumni Discount

20% discount is available for University of Aberdeen graduates on the full cost of a taught graduate programme and one year of a full-time research programme (two years for part time). Applies to a number of taught postgraduate programmes or first year of a full time research programme.


CB Davidson Fund

The CB Davidson fund provides limited financial support for Postgraduate students within the School of Law.

John Reid Trust Scheme 1959

The Trust exists to assist distinguished Aberdeen University graduates, preferably with Honours, and preferably in Arts, to continue their studies in Arts or in any other branches of higher learning at any institution outside Scotland. Students with a Science degree are still encouraged to apply.

The Carlaw-Ogston Master of Music Scholarship is available for students undertaking a full-time 12 months Master of Music (MMus) postgraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen, beginning in the academic year 2020-21.
