UK Government introduces a ‘visa brake’ on Student route for applicants from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan
On 5 March 2026, the UK Government announced the activation of an “emergency brake” on study visas for nationals of Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan. This policy prevents UK universities from issuing a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) or enrolling new students from these countries. As a result of this decision, we are currently unable to process applications from nationals of these countries who require a visa to study in the UK. For further details, please refer to the Home Office website. You can also contact UKCISA for further advice.
We are still welcoming applications for online study.
