Dr Joyce Neilson and Dr Alexander Brasier, Lecturers at the School of Geosciences, will visit the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in Porto Alegre, Brazil, to meet students they currently supervise under the BG Brasil Fellowship initiative. They will also participate in the XXVIII Semana de Debates Geológicos (SEDEGEO), which will be held from 25 to 30 May at the Geosciences Institute, Campus do Vale, UFRGS.
SEDEGEO is the main event organised by the Geology Students' Association - CAEG (Centro Acadêmico de Estudantes de Geologia) - with the support of the Geosciences Institute at UFRGS. It is a week of seminars, debates, roundtables, workshops, short courses and field trips.
This will be a great opportunity for students and researchers to meet Dr Neilson and Dr Brasier to find out more about their work and the BG Brasil Fellowship initiative, which offers scholarships for dual PhD degree and post-doctoral research.
