"Mary Magdalene and Female Devotion in the Age of Titian": a lecture by Dr Carlo Corsato

Dr Carlo Corsato (University of Verona, Fondazione Centro Studi Tiziano e Cadore) will present a paper entitled "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away: Mary Magdalene and Female Devotion in the Age of Titian". Focusing on a group of Penitent Magdalenes painted by Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, and Francesco Bassano, Dr Corsato will explain how these images were meant to serve the performance of different forms of domestic penance.
