The Aleksanteri Institute Visiting Fellows Programme provides an opportunity for highly qualified scholars in Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian studies to visit the Aleksanteri Institute and the University of Helsinki for a period of two months.
During the fellowship, Visiting Fellows work on their research projects and can benefit from interaction with scholars at the Aleksanteri Institute and elsewhere in Finland. Each Visiting Fellow has two academic hosts who are working on a related theme and who help them to settle in and establish contacts with the research community in Finland. Visits are supported with a monthly grant.
There were as many as 155 applications submitted for the Aleksanteri Institute Visiting Fellows Programme for the upcoming academic year. Dr Natasha Danilova, lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, received a fellowship for the project “The analysis of gendered responses in Russia to the war in Ukraine: from the news coverage to digital activism.”
