Emeritus Professor Miep Helfrich has been awarded a prestigious award in recognition of her research into rare bone diseases such as osteopetrosis and Paget's disease of bone.
Professor Helfrich received the 2019 European Calcified Tissue Society (ECTS) Mike Horton Award for significant basic or translational contributions to the field of bone and calcified tissue.
Emeritus Professor Helfrich received the award at the recent ECTS 2019 Congress in Budapest, Hungary. The ECTS Mike Horton Award is open to individuals who have made a significant basic or translational contribution to the field of bone and calcified tissue. Nominees must be nominated and seconded by ECTS members and the award is for €1000 (Euros).
