The Banks of Helicon: early Scottish fiddle music

Award-winning novelist C. J. Cooke will be talking about her latest book, witches, the Gothic and Scottish islands at the Centre for the Novel WayWORD event

For the third year running the University of Aberdeen is set to host the exciting student and youth-led WayWORD Festival.

This will be a PGR piano recital related to the research. Recital will be a total of 60 minutes.

The Walter Scott Research Centre will present some of their exciting new research to the general public.

Elphinstone Institute Public Lecture Series: Many objects made or traded by Scottish Gypsy/Travellers can be found in museums across Scotland, but the connections that they have with Travellers are often unseen. This talk will consider the range of objects and the influence of Scottish Travellers on museum collections.

The conference examines the relationship between the arts, cultural encounter, politics and power across the societies that straddle the Western Mediterranean (including, but not restricted to, Algeria, France, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia).
