Professor Ewan Forrest, Consultant Physician and Hepatologist, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Honorary Professor University of Glasgow
Professor Forrest has a specialist interest in alcohol related liver disease and in particular the management of alcohol related hepatitis. Co-developer of the Glasgow Alcoholic Hepatitis Score and the Glasgow Modified Alcohol Withdrawal Score in alcohol related liver disease. Former Chair of the BASL Special Interest Harms Group, Glasgow Alcohol Drugs Partnership. On steering group of the Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP). Current Alcohol Lead for the British Society of Gastroenterology and Chair of the NHS Research Scotland Hepatology network.
Mr Andrew Fraser, Chair, Alcohol Focus Scotland
Mr Fraser was a solicitor in Local Government, retiring in 2021. Latterly as Head of Service and Solicitor to the Council, at West Dunbartonshire and North Ayrshire Councils. As clerk to their Licensing Boards, he developed a healthy interest in alcohol policy, which led in turn to being appointed to the Board of Alcohol Policy Scotland. After nine years on the Board, the last four as Chair, he has just stepped down.
