External network engineers are undertaking essential maintenance to our external communications service.
What is happening?
This evening, Friday 26th February 2010, between 18:00 and 18:30, engineers from JANET (the UK Education and Research network), will be carrying out some essential maintenance on our primary external network communications link. During this period there may be a short outage to our connection to the Internet. This will affect any network services that require external access e.g. internet access, accessing shared resources with other HE institutions, delivery of external email inbound and outbound. Any emails affected will be sent/delivered once the connection is re-established.
What should you do?
Please be aware that there is a risk of a loss of external network access (as defined above) during this period.
