Network Maintenance - Friday 21st January 8.30am to 10.00am
What is happening?
The following sites and services will experience brief network disruptions between 8.30 and 10am on Friday 21st January. Disruptions should be minimal but there is a risk of complete network loss during this maintenance period.
Sites and services affected during this upgrade:
· Taylor East
· Old Brewery
· St Marys
· Newburgh / NDC
· Wireless Services: Eduroam, City Wi-Fi, Govroam
· Hillhead Halls
· UoA Gaming
Please save your work regularly and if you experience connectivity issues wait a few minutes then try again. You may need to wait until after 10am; if an issue persists after that, contact the Service Desk.
Please note: While we know the above locations will definitely be affected, there is an “at risk” to all network services on Friday morning during this upgrade.
Why is this happening?
We are continuing the process of upgrading the campus core routers.
Core routers are IT network equipment that move all the network traffic around campus.
NHS Computers in Old Aberdeen
NHS Computers based in Old Aberdeen will lose connectivity for the duration of the upgrade.
