There are a number of planned updates to IT systems that will take place this week. Please see the table below for a brief summary of each and what you should do.

Tue 17th Dec to Wed 18th Dec | 9am (Tues 17th) | 12noon (Wed 18th) | Printing Upgrade | The printmanage.abdn.ac.uk site - where you can top up your print budget and manage your print queue - will be unavailable. | You will be able to use MFDs and print as normal, but you will not be able to top up your print budget or manage your print queue using the online service during this time. |
Wed 18th Dec | 9am | 11am | UOA-gaming network upgrade | Software supporting the UoA-gaming network will be upgraded. There will be an outage to this student service during the time window. | Nothing – UoA-gaming will be unavailable during the upgrade. |
Wed 18th Dec | 5pm | 7pm | Wireless Upgrade | There will be short UoA wireless network outages during the upgrade work. | Save files regularly if working over WIFI. |
Thu 19th Dec | 10am | 2pm | Student “H” Drive migration | H drive data for undergraduates and taught postgraduates will be unavailable during this time window. | Copy any required files to local storage or USB stick. Don’t forget to copy data back to the network after 2pm. |
Thu 19th Dec | 5pm | 7pm | Firewall Upgrade | Bring your own device wireless network may suffer a very short outage of less than 5 minutes. | Save files regularly if working over WIFI. |
While there will be some inconvenience from these upgrades, we have tried to minimise this by scheduling them when there are fewer students on campus.
