Internet Explorer Flash update

Internet Explorer Flash update

Flash will now be click-to-run on Internet Explorer

What is happening?

We are no longer allowing Flash content to run automatically in Internet Explorer on University-managed devices. This is due to the number of vulnerabilities found in Adobe Flash Player over time.

If a page has Flash content Internet Explorer will now prompt you. Before clicking to allow consider if you expect the page to require Flash content to function.

The message displayed reads: “This web page wants to run the following add-on: ‘Adobe Flash Player’ from ‘Microsoft Windows Third Party Application Components’.”
