Using DCEs to value health for economic evaluation: state of play and future challenges.
Abstract: Discrete choice experiments (DCEs) have become increasingly widely used to value health, with the potential of use in construction of quality-adjusted life years (QALYs). Relative to other leading methods, they are cheap, easy to implement, and generally produce results with good face validity. However, the optimal methods around design, presentation, data collection, and analysis remain uncertain. In this presentation, some of the key areas of progress and challenge will be outlined, alongside some early guidance around likely solutions.
