Summary

The Hamilton Scholarship for Medicine is open to undergraduate applicants from Hong Kong who have decided to undertake a degree in Medicine starting in September 2024. There is one scholarship to be awarded.

Description

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, as determined by application to the School and entrance interview, and individuals who have been offered a place by the University of Aberdeen will be eligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship is valued at £4,500 per annum for the 5 year duration of the MBChB degree and contributes to the maintenance costs incurred by the student. Should the recipient take a further year of study to complete an intercalated degree at the University of Aberdeen, the scholarship will be extended for the 6 year period.

Eligibility

You should note that only applicants from Hong Kong are eligible to apply for the scholarship. To be considered for the scholarship, you will need to have applied to the University of Aberdeen for a place starting in September 2024 AND you must receive and firmly accept an offer, either conditional or unconditional, of a place at the University. University of Aberdeen Scholarships can only be held by students of the University - they cannot be transferred to other institutions.

Criteria

In addition to the above, applicants should be able to demonstrate through the application process that they are:

  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and determined to succeed academically and professionally.
  • Have a strong commitment to self-development and take a pro-active and committed approach to their education.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
