Join Dr Tom McKean as he explores 1930s traditional ballads
The voices of 1930s singers in the Ballad Capital of the World can now be heard again – an opportunity to listen, learn, to appreciate remarkable artists and to contribute to their legacy in this one of the most fertile areas for traditional song in the world.
Drawing on the James Madison Carpenter collection and recordings by young contemporary singers Tom McKean will explore the continuing relevance of this jewel in the crown of our region’s culture.
