We invite you to join us for a book launch for Offshore Energy Law: Challenges and Opportunities for Renewables and Hydrocarbons, recenlty out with Hart Publishing. Offshore environments have vast resources to provide energy solutions for humankind. While they have been explored and extracted for more than a century when it comes to hydrocarbons, there is rapidly growing offshore renewable industry. Offshore spaces now amalgamate mature and emerging energy industries, making this the pertinent time to identify synergies as well as regulatory lessons for the future. This book offers an comparative and analytical dimension to key legal challenges and opportunities shared by a variety of offshore developments.
Many AUCEL members contributed to this volume, with Dr Eddy Wifa being one of the editors. Dr Daria Shapovalova and Dr Eddy Wifa co-authored a chapter on environmental regulation (with Dr Pedi Obani). Nnennaya J Nwali co-authored a chapter on resource curse (with Solomon N Obulor and Joy A Debski), while Dr Eddy Wifa and Prof John Paterson co-authored a chapter on health and safety.
On the day, we we will be joined by one of the editors Prof Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui (University of Bergen), and discussants Prof Greg Gordon (University of Aberdeen) and Prof Olivia Wolley (University of Durham).
The presentation and discussion will be followed by networking lunch 13.15-14.00.
