Join us for a roundtable marking the launch of the new University of Aberdeen Environmental Arts and Humanities Network, supported by the Interdisciplinary Institute, on Friday 9th May from 11am - 13:30pm.
This event will bring together distinguished researchers who are at the forefront of interdisciplinary environmental research. Together, they will explore key themes including energy transitions, climate change, multispecies justice, and the role of the environmental humanities and creative practice in addressing ecological issues.
The speakers, including Professor Emeritus Timothy Ingold (Anthropology), Dr Isabelle Gapp (Art History and the Interdisciplinary Institute), Dr Alejandra Rodriguez-Remedi (Visual Cultures), Dr Jennifer Clarke (Gray's School of Art), and Professor Timothy Baker (Scottish and English Literature), will share insights into their research and offer reflections on new directions for arts and humanities-led environmental research. This gathering aims to spark conversation and ideas for collaboration. Don’t miss the chance to learn, share, and help the shape future of environmental arts and humanities research at Aberdeen and beyond.
The roundtable will take place in New Kings 10 (NK10), followed by a networking lunch from 12:30pm - 1:30pm in the Interdisciplinary Lounge, Crombie Halls.
