The UKPRP has been launched and it will now be hosting a networking and collaboration event on 18 May 2017 in London. This event will explain the vision and objectives of the UKPRP, the timelines to research calls and provide plenty of time to explore possible collaborations.
Keynote speakers will include:
- Professor Linda Bauld, University of Stirling
- Professor Dame Anne Johnson, University College London
- Professor Nancy Edwards, University of Ottawa
- Professor Dame Sally Macintyre, University of Glasgow
Who is the event for?
Researchers in the UK who could contribute to large-scale multidisciplinary primary prevention research of non-communicable diseases. While we expect representation of public health researchers, we would encourage interest from other disciplines including from the biomedical, physical and social sciences; environmental science, policy, economics, law, design, engineering, anthropology, architecture, computer science etc; which have the potential to contribute to, and drive innovation in, primary prevention research. Please note that we have also invited some ‘research-users’ to the event, for example, those in industry and local government and we would be delighted to consider Expressions of Interest from ‘users’ who have a strong interest in primary prevention.
How to Register
Space is limited and attendance is by invitation only. An expression of interest is required so that we can ensure that there is a good representation and a balance of different disciplines and institutions across the UK.
If you are interested in attending the event please complete the expression of interest form (DOCX, 43KB). In the box entitled “reasons for attending” please outline your current role/ organisational affiliation and relevant research / professional expertise, as well as briefly stating your interest in the UKPRP. This partnership will encourage working with users and industry, and the voluntary and charitable sector as appropriate, so please say what experience you have of these partnerships to date.

Please note the deadline for registering interest for the workshop is 20 April. Invitations will be issued at the end of April.
