The Geddes-Harrower Chair in Greek Art and Archaeology is a visiting Professorship, which, over the past century, has brought many of the world's foremost scholars of classical culture to Aberdeen. It was established through a bequest by John Harrower (Aberdeen's Regius Professor of Greek, 1886-1931), and is named in honour of Harrower and of his father-in-law, William Duguid Geddes (Regius Professor of Greek, 1855-85).
Professor Glenn Most (Committee on Social Thought, University of Chicago; Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin) is the Geddes-Harrower Chair in Greek Art and Archaeology for 2026.
All lectures are free and open to the public. Lectures 1 and 4 will be followed by a drinks reception.
