Institutional ethnography (IE) workshop
Damla attended an advanced institutional ethnography (IE) workshop held at Northumbria University, Newcastle. The event brought together UK-based and international researchers applying IE across disciplines, from healthcare and education to local governance and public services. The workshop focused on discussing and working through methodological and practical dilemmas in participants’ ongoing research. Each attendee had the opportunity to present key challenges, with facilitators and peers collaboratively offering reflections and potential ways forward. The session provided valuable opportunities to discuss the current project with experienced IE scholars. It also enabled networking with researchers working across related areas. The workshop was co-facilitated by project team member Gráinne Kearney (Medical Education, Queen’s University Belfast), alongside Órla Meadhbh Murray (Sociology, Northumbria University Newcastle), Colin Hastings (Socio-Legal Studies, University of Waterloo, Canada) and Adriana Suárez Delucchi (Geography, Catholic Temuco University, Chile).
