Drawing on internationally recognised expertise in Epistemology, History of Philosophy, Ethics and Political Philosophy, as well as a strong record of teaching excellence, our Philosophy department will introduce students to a range of contemporary research topics in Analytic Philosophy. Expect lively discussions on topics such as:

  • Knowledge and the Internet
  • Testimonial injustice
  • Comparative epistemology across Analytic and Chinese Philosophy
  • Ethical issues concerning the use of AI
  • Ethics and health care
  • Environmental ethics

But it’s not just about ideas - you’ll also build skills that matter for your future. The programme is a great way to strengthen your critical thinking, analytical writing, and cross-cultural communication; all qualities valued by employers and postgraduate programmes worldwide.

Outside the classroom, the programme will also feature a variety of co-curricular activities giving students a chance to sample different aspects of Scottish culture and history in and around the local area. From historic landmarks to local experiences, you’ll get a real taste of Scottish culture while studying in one of the UK’s most beautiful regions.
