Easy to get to, easy to get around, but hard to want to leave; our Campuses are located within the heart of a diverse and thriving city.

With extensive air, rail and road connections, Aberdeen is easily reachable from anywhere within the UK, and arriving from further afield is easy thanks to the city's global travel connections.

Once you’re here, getting around is easy – the city has an excellent public transport system which runs day and night, stretching throughout Aberdeen and beyond. For the more adventurous, there are plenty of cycle and walking routes to choose from.

By Car

Parking

There is no parking on the university campuses on week days. There is limited parking available on campus at weekends. Visitors are advised to travel by public transport or use the park and rides located within the city. There are also car parks around the city and buses can be used to travel to the campuses.

Blue Badge holders are able to park on campus without a permit 7 day a week. Blue badges must be clearly displayed.

By Train

Aberdeen Train Station

Aberdeen train station is a 10 minute bus ride from the University's main (King's College) campus or a 25 minute walk. The University also often runs complimentary shuttle buses in the morning of Open Days and return buses at the end of the day. Please see the Open Day Guide 2023 for shuttle bus information.

Getting to the campus

From the train station, you can get the number 1 or 2 First bus service to King Street; on the edge of campus. Student Ambassadors will be available in the morning to guide you towards the bus station.

By Coach

National Coaches

There are regular coach services which connect Aberdeen with the rest of the UK.

By Plane

Aberdeen Airport

Aberdeen International Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK and has excellent travel links throughout the UK, Europe and further afield. It’s just a short taxi or bus ride from the airport to the University (around 6 miles).

From Aberdeen Airport the 727 bus service runs every 10 minutes to the city centre where you can get the number 1 or 2 bus. A taxi to the University will cost approximately £15.

City Buses

Once you arrive in Aberdeen, you’ll discover it is pretty easy to find your way around. There are plenty of quick and direct bus routes all over the city.

Buses to King's College Campus

Stagecoach Bus

The number 60, 61, 62, 63, 67 and 68 Stagecoach buses run regularly from Union Square bus station and stop at King Street next to the campus. For more information on times and to plan your journey please visit the Stagecoach website.

Cash and card are both accepted. A single from Union Square to King Street is roughly £2.50

First Bus

The number 1, 1A, 2 and 20 First buses run every 7 minutes (or less during peak times) and go direct from various parts of the centre of town straight to the campus.

Buses to Foresterhill Medicine Campus 

First Bus

The following buses will take you to Foresterhill. They all stop at slightly different locations but are all suitable. 

3- This bus leaves Guild Street, outside of the train station, and stops at Ashgrove Road West

59- This bus also leaves from Guild Street and stops on Foresterhill Road.

10- This bus leaves from the bus station at Union Square, next to the train station, it stops at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
