The Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Renaissance, TotalEnergies, AENR Joint Venture, is delighted to announce the seventeenth annual NNPC/Renaissance JV Niger Delta Postgraduate Overseas Scholarship for applicants from Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers States. The objective of the scholarship programme is to provide postgraduate study opportunities in courses that are relevant to the oil and gas industry for qualifying students from these Niger Delta States.
The scholarship covers:
- Tuition fees
- One economy return flight from Nigeria to the UK
- A contribution towards living expenses
Eligibility
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must
- Display intellectual ability and leadership potential.
- Have an adequate standard of English (at least 6.5 in IELTS) and or meet the university’s language requirements.
- Have been offered admission to study on one of the eligible courses through the university’s normal admission process.
- Already hold (or expect to hold before commencement) a degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second-Class Honours degree.
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme by September 2026.
- Be an indigine of Bayelsa, Delta, Imo or Rivers State.
- Have not previously studied in the UK or another developed country.
- Be aged between 21–28 years by 30 September 2026.
- Hold a Nigerian international passport valid until December 2027.
- Employees, employees’ relatives, or former employees (who left employment less than five years before) of Renaissance or the participating universities are not eligible to apply

Application Procedure
- Submit an application for admission to the University of Aberdeen for one of the qualifying courses.
- Scholarship application forms will ONLY be available through the website of University of Aberdeen, following a formal offer of admission.
- The University will process applications and select candidates who will attend interviews with Renaissance before final selection.
- Completed scholarship application forms must reach the participating universities not later than 17 July 2026.
