The Lawscot Foundation helps students facing facing socio-economic barriers on their legal journey. Lawscot Foundation scholars are awarded £3000 per academic year, over the course of their LLB and the Diploma (DPLP). We also support students with a positive transition to university education through our mentoring programme and a range of career development events.
Eligibility

You could be eligible to apply if you:
- Have an offer to study LLB Law one of the eleven universities accredited by the Law Society of Scotland starting in 2026.
- Are currently studying at school or college in Scotland, or have left school or college in Scotland within the last two years (but not currently attending university), and do not already have a university degree.
- Would struggle to access and participate in higher education (university) without financial support.

Successful applicants receive:
- £3000 per year totalling £15000 over the course of your LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice
- Bespoke career and skill development events and opportunities
- A solicitor mentor to support you through your law degree
