This scholarship is available for this 2025-26 academic year. It is worth £1,000 per annum for the 4 or 5 year duration of the undergraduate degree programme (i.e. £4,000 or £5,000 in total).
Description
The scholarship was established in memory of William James Greig who was born in the Northeast of Scotland and graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1948.
Eligibility
The scholarship is open to students who:
- are currently in the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree programme in Engineering or the Physical Sciences. Preference will be given to a student from the Northeast of Scotland, however, if this is not possible, then it will be awarded to a student from anywhere in Scotland.
- are permanently domiciled in Scotland and classified as paying Home Fees.
- The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who can demonstrate academic potential and financial need.
Criteria
The scholarship is valued at £1,000 per annum for the 4- or 5-year duration of the undergraduate degree course (i.e., £4,000 - £5,000 in total).
The scholarship can only be held by students registered at the University of Aberdeen – they cannot be transferred to other institutions.
