This scholarship is available for this 2025-26 academic year. It is worth £4,000 per annum for the 4-year duration of the undergraduate degree programme (i.e. £16,000 in total).
Description
The scholarship was established by a Geology graduate of the University of Aberdeen (BSc 1969) in memory of Bill Fraser, an excellent and popular Reader in Geology at this time, who provided students with sound career advice.
Eligibility
The scholarship is open to full time students who:
- are currently in the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree programme in the School of Geosciences.
- are permanently domiciled in the UK and classified as paying Home or RUK Fees.
- The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who can demonstrate academic potential, financial need and meet one or more of the widening access criteria as set out in the University’s contextualised admissions policy (see guidelines document)
- The scholarship is not open to students who have already obtained a first degree.
