SIMD20 Travel Bursary

The University of Aberdeen is offering a £75 travel bursary to any eligible Scottish student who lives in an SIMD20 postcode outside of the AB postcode area. See more information and apply here 

Parking

Kings Campus

If you wish to drive to the campus you can use the postcode AB243FX to find us. Permits are required to park and can be downloaded from your booking confirmation email. We cannot guarantee spaces will be available so encourage you to allow plenty of time for parking. The permit must be displayed clearly on your car dashboard throughout your visit. 

Kings Campus Car Parks

Foresterhill (Medicine)

Parking is limited at the Foresterhill campus as it shares a site with the city hospitals. Visitors should only park in the University of Aberdeen car parks and must display the parking permit which is downloadable from your booking confirmation. The best car park to park in is outside the Polwarth Building as shown below. There is also pay and display parking on Ashgrove Road West. Please avoid parking in NHS car parks.

We recommend if possible, using public transport. Buses which service our Foresterhill campus can be found here. 

Medicine Visitors

We are pleased to be able to welcome visitors interested in studying Medicine to our Foresterhill campus on Wednesdays between the 4th August-15th September. Visitors who have booked the 'Medicine Talk and Tour' will be met outside the Suttie Centre where you will be taken for your talk. The talk will cover Medicine at Aberdeen including entry requirements, the curriculum and a short tour of the clinical facilities. You should attend your session at Foresterhill and then make your way down to the Kings College Campus to join any other sessions you have booked. It is not compulsory to attend any additional sessions if you do not wish.

We are delighted to invite you to visit our beautiful ancient university campus. We are running a number of enhanced visits to allow offer prospective students to see the campus before applying to study at Aberdeen. 

If you are a new student starting in September 2021, make sure to check out a range of orientation activities during Welcome Week, including campus tours for new students. Book your place now!

All visits will be in line with the current Scottish Government guidance. This may include the requirements for social distancing and face masks etc. Please ensure you understand the current rules on the day of your visit. 

You can tailor your visit to suit your interests. Optional aspects of the day include:

  • Visiting the Aberdeen Sports Village
  • Medicine talk and tour (Wednesdays only) - this session is currently only available until 15th September. Please check back if the sessions are full or you wish to book a later visit.
  • Meeting an academic teaching in your main subject of interest (subject to availability, Wednesdays only, excluding Medicine)
  • Speaking to a member of our Student Support team - find out more about support offered here  (Wednesdays only)
  • Speaking to a member of staff from our Access and Articulation Team (Wednesdays only)
  • Meeting an International Officer (for International students)
  • Visiting Hillhead Student Accommodation (self-guided tour - not available on 15th September)

All bookings will include the Welcome and Student Life talk given by a member of staff and current student, as well as a campus tour in small groups guided by a current student ambassador.  

Please note: If you book optional sessions which clash we will coordinate them for you to ensure you can attend them all. 

The Enhanced Campus visits can be booked below and are available on the following dates. Please see the booking form below for session timings. 

  • Every Wednesday until 27th October (All bookings close at 8pm on the Sunday before your Wednesday visit or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first)
  • The following Saturdays: 11th September and 23rd October (All bookings close at 5pm on the Wednesday before your Saturday visit or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first)

In addition, we will be hosting our Virtual Undergraduate Open Day on Saturday 2 October, with a chance to explore our campus virtually and chat with academics, staff and current students. You would also be very welcome to attend either of these online events. Find out more here.
