Biography
I am a Research Assistant at the Lighthouse Field Station. Since joining the Field Station in 2012, I have been collecting data and running our individual based long term harbour seal study at Loch Fleet, Sutherland, Scotland. I also participate in all aspects of the of the other projects that run out of the Lighthouse.
The Lighthouse Field Station is the University of Aberdeen's marine field station based in the coastal village of Cromarty on the Black Isle, 35 mins from Inverness. Established in 1990, the Lighthouse supports the School of Biological Sciences research and teaching porgrammes. Our research looks to understand how natural and man-made environmental changes influence the behaviour and population dynamics of marine mammals and seabirds, which supports conservation and management.
You can find out more about our research and the other members of the team of the Lighthouse Field Station on our website.
Celebrating Lighthouse Women In Science
International Day of Women and Girls in Science and International Women's Day are perfect opportunities for us to spotlight some of the many women who have driven the science, research and teaching at the Lighthouse Field Station for over 30 years and hopefully into the future. Follow the link to read the profiles from some of the inspiring women who have worked, studied, interned or volunteered at the Lighthouse Field Station over the last >30 years.
