Overview

Reactor Design - General Principles:

- Basic objectives in design of a reactor
- Batch reactors
- Tubular flow reactors
- Continuous stirred-tank reactors
- Comparison of batch, tubular and CSTR reactors for a single reaction
- Comparison of batch, tubular and CSTR for multiple reactions

Structure

3 one-hour lectures per week
1 one-hour tutorial per week
2 three-hour laboratory sessions

Assessment

1st attempt: 1 three-hour written examination (80%); continuous assessment (20%).

Resit: 1 three-hour written examination.
