Biography
Dr Nglaa Ahmad joined the University of Aberdeen Business School as a Lecturer in Accountancy in May 2022. She currently serves as the School’s Ethics Officer and Library Representative.
In April 2022, she was awarded a PhD from the University of Aberdeen for her thesis, “Critical Essays on Corporate Accountability in Relation to Modern Slavery and Workers' Vulnerability in the Global Supply Chain,” which was passed without corrections.
Her research interests lie in critical accounting, with a particular focus on corporate accountability and modern slavery in global supply chains, as well as gender equality, climate change, and sustainability. Her work has been published in leading journals, including Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal (AAAJ) and Critical Perspectives on Accounting (CPA).
Nglaa is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with experience in coordinating and teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She has supervised dissertations and business projects at both levels and is currently co-supervising two PhD students.
