Biography

Euan joined the School of Law as a lecturer in March 2019, having amassed more than five years' experience in part-time tutoring at that institution. From 2015 to 2018, he undertook a PhD thesis at the School of Law entitled 'The Nature of Rights of Relief Arising from a Cautionary Relationship', which he successfully defended in December 2018 with no substantive corrections. This research was sponsored by the Clark Foundation for Legal Education and the Robert Nicol Trust, and supervised by Professor Robin Evans-Jones (first supervisor) and Professor John Ford (second supervisor). He also conducted a Research LLM at the School of Law concerning the law of unjustified enrichment, which, as with the PhD, was primarily supervised by Professor Robin Evans-Jones. In line with the subject matter of his LLM and PhD, Euan's current research interests lie mainly in the area of Scots private law, with a particular focus on the law of obligations.
