Bruce, Robert
Biography: Son of Peter Bruce; born Insch, 12 November 1871. M.A., 1893; M.B., 1897; M.D., 1899. Royal Garrison Artillery, University Battery, 1890-94; commissioned, October 1900. Mobilized as Major, August 1914; attached to the 7th Gordon Highlanders; transferred as Lieutenant-Colonel, R.A.M.C.; Officer Commanding 1/3rd Highland Field Ambulance. Served - Home, 1914-15, 1917-18; France, May 1915-June 1917, October 1918-April 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. D.S.O., T.D. Three mentions, January 1916, June 1916, January 1917.
