Biography: Son of John Brander; born Aberdeen, 10 May 1876. M.B., 1901; M.D. (Hons.), 1910. Private, Volunteer Medical Staff Corps, 1896. Commissioned, R.A.M.C, 1912. Mobilized, 1914. Attached to the 1/3rd East Anglian Field Ambulance, Norwich, 1914-15; seconded, January 1915; restored to establishment, May 1917; Officer in command, Surgical Division, City of London Military Hospital, 1917-18. Final rank, Acting Major. Brevet-Major, 1919.
