Biography: Son of Henry Birch; born Thame, 2 November 1876. Medicine, 1895-97. Private, 23rd Royal Fusiliers (1st Sportman's Battalion), October 1914. Served - Home, 1 year; France, November 1915-February 1919. Final rank, Sergeant.
