Watt, George Theodore Robertson

Biography: Son of the late Theodore Watt, LL.D., and Mabel Florence Watt, Rubislaw Den North, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 24 November 1912 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. In 1936 he graduated M.B., Ch.B., and with the intention of specializing in gynaecology held several hospital appointments. Soon after the outbreak of war he volunteered for service in the Royal Navy, and in 1940 was commissioned Surgeon-Lieutenant in the R.N.V.R. He lost his life during the evacuation from Greece when the destroyer on which he was serving, H.M.S. Wryneck was bombed and sunk on 27 April 1941.
