Johnstone, Ian Alexander Bruce

Biography: Son of Alexander and Carolie Mary Johnstone, Beaconsfield Place, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 18 June 1915 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School and Merchiston, Edinburgh. Graduating M.A. in 1936 he took the degree of LL.B. two years later. After serving as a law apprentice with Messrs. Cooper, Son and Hay, Aberdeen, he went to Glasgow and later to Galston. In 1941 he was admitted to the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen. On joining the Royal Air Force his period of service was brief, as he was killed in action on 12 March 1942.
