Gillan, James

Biography: Son of the late William M. and Mary T. Gillan, Balgranach, Milltimber ; born Milltimber, 1914 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. For a time he studied at the University and then entered the Royal Air Force in 1935. He served in Egypt and was later sent to Canada as an Instructor. He had returned to this country only a few weeks when he lost his life during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
