Biography: Son of William Archibald; born Aberdeen, 30 April 1896. Medicine, 1913-14. Private, 6th Gordon Highlanders, 20 September 1914; Inns of Court O.T.C. 1915-16; commissioned, 6th Gordon Highlanders, 7 July 1916; transferred to 7th Gordon Highlanders. Served - Home, 1916, 1917-18; France, October 1916-April 1917. Final rank, Acting Captain.
