Biography: Son of James Mortimer; born Aberdeen, 16 May 1892. M.B., 1914. A.U.O.T.C. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., 16 August 1914; attached 106th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery Served-France, 1914-19. Final rank, Captain. Mentioned in despatches, January 1918.
