Biography: Son of Robert Mitchell; born Stonehaven, 28 October 1892. M.B., 1915. A.U.O.T.C. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C. (T.F.), 17 August 1915; attached to 1/1st North Midland Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance, 14th Cavalry Brigade combined Field Ambulance. Served-Home, 1915; Egypt, Palestine, Syria, October 1915-August 1919. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, 1918. Two mentions in despatches, 1917, 1918.
