Biography: Son of William Maitland; born Inverurie, 7 January 1881. Law, 1901-03. War work-Military Tribunal, Tranent, 1916-17. Private, 4th Reserve Battery, The Royal Scots, 11 October 1917. Served with 1st Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). Home, 1917-18; France, March 1918-January 1919. Final rank, Lance Corporal.
