Biography: Son of David MacDonald; born Peterhead, 4 November 1878. M.A., 1903. Enlisted, November 1915. War work-Under Red Cross, called up, July 1917. Joined 3/4th Gordon Highlanders, 1917; transferred. Intelligence Corps, 1918. Served-Home, 1917-18; France, June-November 1918; Germany, November 1918-February 1919. Final rank, Sergeant.
