Biography: Son of John McDonald; born Avoch, 22 September 1891. M.A., 1913; Division, 1913-15. War work- Y.M.C.A., Field Secretary; attached to Australian Imperial Forces, Egypt, Gallipoli, 1915-16; Secretary, XVI Army Corps, Macedonia, Trans-Caucasia, 1916-19. Mentioned in despatches, February 1918.
